This policy explains what information Melstone ("we", "us") collects when you use this website or get in touch with us, and how that information is used.
1. What we collect
When you submit the enquiry form on this site, we collect the information you provide: your name, business name, email address, phone number (if given), business type, your location or service area, website, design preferences, and any message you write. If you email or call us directly, we collect whatever information you choose to share.
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log basic technical information (such as IP address and browser type) for security and performance purposes.
2. How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare a free website mockup
- To communicate with you about a project you've asked about
- To provide ongoing hosting and support if you become a client
We do not sell your information to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Who sees it
Enquiry form submissions are sent to our API and saved in our Railway-hosted PostgreSQL database for our private enquiry dashboard. Email notifications may also be sent through our email provider. We use standard hosting and email providers to run this business — we don't share your details with anyone beyond what's needed to run our service and respond to you.
If you pay through a PayPal payment link, PayPal processes your payment details and subscription. We use the payment and subscription information made available to us to administer your project and billing. PayPal’s own privacy policy also applies to its checkout. These payment pages do not load our optional Google Analytics tracking.
4. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and client information for as long as it's needed to provide our services and meet any legal or accounting obligations, after which it's deleted or anonymised.
5. Your rights
You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To do any of this, email [email protected].
6. Cookies
Google Analytics is optional and loads only after you choose “Allow analytics”. It measures page visits, portfolio previews, contact clicks and enquiry steps. Our custom events do not include your brief, name, email or phone number. Your analytics choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days. You can change it using “Cookie settings” in the footer. Declining analytics does not affect your ability to send an enquiry.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version.
